MCDEA is a specialty curative and chain extender for isocyanate pre-polymers, affording polyureas with superior mechanical and dynamic properties. Compared with aliphatic diamines, MCDEA has slower reactivity and extends pour life (a slower rate of viscosity build-up after the curative and pre-polymer are mixed). It reportedly has a higher reactivity than MOCA and is used in combinations with MOCA and other curatives.
