Gantrade’s lineup of polymer modifiers for the construction industry includes PVOH resins, VAE copolymer emulsions, redispersible powder, cellulose ether polymers and dust control concentrates. Our economical range of water-soluble polymer additives can significantly improve the properties of your concrete and other cementitious products, and also optimize costs. Performance improvements include workability, durability, consistency, and reliability.
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) products see extensive use as cement additives in all types of dry mortars, tile adhesives, building putty, and plaster. PVOH improves cement properties such as flexibility, water retention and increased viscosity. PVOH also enhances the working capacity and quality (reduced cracking and shedding) of cementitious products. We specifically design fine-powder PVOH for use as cement additives.
Our redispersible latex powders are spray-dried VAE copolymer emulsions which offer the convenience of handling a dry product. VAE-redispersible powders improve the performance of cement or gypsum dry-mix products, with qualities like improved water retention, open time, and workability, higher strength, better adhesion to a variety of surfaces, flexibility, impact and abrasion resistance. Applications for polymer-modified mortars include tile adhesives and grouts, sealing slurries and crack fillers, repair mortars and troweling compounds, wallpaper adhesives, mineral plasters, gypsum-based compounds and masonry mortars.
We offer two grades of VAE-aqueous emulsion copolymers that are highly effective in soil stabilization and the control of dust emissions and erosion. Applications include road dust control, fugitive dust control, erosion control, and soil stabilization associated with unpaved dirt roads, haul roads, oil field production sites, mining tailing piles, construction sites, and land development activities.
Contractors use cellulose ether polymers, such as HEC, HPMC & HEMC to improve properties of mortars such as water retention, strength, consistency, workability, open time, yield point, and shear thinning behavior. They also can set up a barrier to water diffusion. Strength improvements include compressive strength, tensile strength and fracture toughness. Contractors use these cement-based mortars or polymer-modified cements as masonry materials, tile adhesives, repair mortars, grouts, flooring materials, and more.
