Adipic Acid Dihydrazide
CAS Number: 1071-93-8
Empirical Formula: C6H14N4O2
Adipic Acid Dihydrazide (ADH) is a difunctional crosslinking agent used to cure functionalized copolymers, such as those containing aldehyde, ketone, and epoxy moieties. At room temperature, the amino functionality of ADH rapidly crosslinks copolymers containing diacetone acrylamide (DAAM). ADH is also used as a curing agent for bisphenol glycidyl epoxy resins, and for urethane pre-polymers. ADH has been used to scavenge formaldehyde.
Adipic Acid Dihydrazide has the structural formula below:
ADH is moderately soluble in water. It is an effective curative in aqueous emulsions and dispersions.
